Unite for HER

As many of you know, Sue Weldon's new nonprofit organization is Unite for HER.  This is the organization that receives most of the proceeds from the Pink Invitational gymnastics meet, which is hosted by AJS Pancott Gymnastics and attended by over 1500 gymnasts from all over our region.  We just held our first Wellness Day at Paoli Hospital in Paoli, PA this past weekend!  It was an emotional yet exhilarating time for the Unite for HER Board, as we saw our efforts with Pink and the funds that were raised come to the culmination of Sue Weldon's vision, to provide help and services to breast cancer patients.

Pink Invitational registration is now open and grant applications for the Gymnast Unite grants are now available on their website at www.pinkinvitational.com.  All proceeds from the Pink Invitational will go to Unite for HER, a nonprofit 501c3 organization whose mission is to make a positive difference in the lives of women and girls by supporting and providing breast cancer programs and initiatives that educate, empower and restore.

Compulsory Season Change - Please Respond

The Pennsylvania State Board has been inundated with many letters concerning the move of the Compulsory Season in 2011. Some of the letters are negative and some are positive. We would like all of the clubs in Pennsylvania to write a letter to the board informing us of your position. Upon receiving the letters, the board will meet in September and revisit the issue.

We would like everyone to understand, the decision to move the Compulsory season was not an easy one. It has been on the agenda for at least the past 3 years.  This past season the compulsory chair people posted a questionnaire on the website. They received minimum responses.

Thank you to all of you that voiced your opinions. To everyone else, please take the time to write a letter. The Pennsylvania State Board wants to hear your concerns or approval.

Everyone wants what is best for Pennsylvania Gymnastics – let’s take this opportunity to work together.
